Build the fixture schedule before comparing finishes

A hotel faucet order should begin with room types, not a mood board. Separate standard guestrooms, accessible rooms, suites, public washrooms, staff areas, restaurants, and back-of-house sinks. Record quantity, mounting pattern, deck thickness, supply connection, expected pressure, flow target, and local compliance requirement for every location.

This schedule prevents a common failure: approving one attractive sample and later discovering that it cannot cover every basin, countertop, or maintenance condition in the property.

Use the mock-up room as a controlled test

Install the exact proposed faucet, hoses, drain, shut-off valves, and countertop in a mock-up room. Check handle clearance, splash, aerator performance, cleaning access, hose reach, and the time required to replace a cartridge. Photograph the installation and record any approved deviation. A showroom sample is not an installation approval.

Lock the finish and internal components

Approve a physical finish reference under the lighting used in the project. The written specification should identify the cartridge, aerator, hoses, mounting hardware, and visible finish. Any proposed substitution should require written approval. This matters when deliveries are split across several months and component availability changes.

Plan service parts before handover

Ask the supplier to map cartridges, aerators, hoses, seals, and finish-sensitive trim to each finished model. Spare quantities should reflect room count, water quality, duty cycle, replenishment time, and the maintenance period. Package service parts separately and label them with the same model codes used in the room schedule.

Inspect against the approved specification

Pre-shipment inspection should cover identity, dimensions, finish consistency, leakage, flow, handle operation, accessory count, labels, and carton marks. Record results by batch. The useful question is not whether the faucet “passed QC,”but whether the shipment matches the approved model and measurable acceptance criteria.
